Site Description
The station at Dungloe Road notionally served the West Donegal town of Dungloe. However, it is as close to Burtonport as it is to Dungloe! The station building remains on what was the only platform on the Up side. There was a goods store on the Down side opposite the station building, but this has been demolished. At the west end of the station, the tip of Lough Meela can be seen. The railway line severed the northernmost part of this - the lake previously extended to the north of the railway line.Photographs
